Delete your account and data

Last updated: 17 October 2026

Naam Jaap works without signing in, but when your phone is online it keeps a backup of your progress on our server (anonymous, or linked to your Google or Apple sign-in). You can delete that backup and your account at any time. There are two ways.

In the app (fastest)

  1. Open Naam Jaap and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Delete my data.
  3. Confirm twice. The second step is red, because this can't be undone.

This happens immediately. It deletes your online backup and account, together with every account that was merged into it (for example, when you signed in with the same Google or Apple account on another phone), and it deletes the counts on this phone. The app then starts fresh, like a new install.

Other phones signed into the same account keep what's on them. Next time they go online, each one becomes a separate anonymous backup. To remove those too, use Delete my data on each phone.

Your phone needs to be online for this. If the app can't reach our server, nothing is deleted and it asks you to try again later.

No longer have the app?

Email us at hello@vanar.club and ask us to delete your data. So that we can find your backup, either:

We delete everything within 30 days and reply to you when it's done.

If you never signed in and don't have the device ID, we can't tell which backup is yours, because an anonymous backup isn't linked to your name or email. Backups with no activity for 3 years are deleted automatically.

What gets deleted

On Android, your phone's own Google backup of the app (Auto Backup) is replaced the next time your phone backs up.

What stays

Only anonymous statistics that can't be linked back to you: our weekly summary reports, which contain totals (for example, how many people chanted each name that week), and the list of chant names people have added, without who added them.

Signing out is not deleting

Sign out in Settings only disconnects this phone from your Google or Apple account. Your backup stays on our server so you can sign in again later, and your counts stay on the phone. To remove the backup, use Delete my data.
